In this video, Doctor David Hill clarifies what type 1 diabetes is. He explains that type 1 diabetes occurs when the pancreas stops making insulin, and the body loses its ability to process sugar correctly. This can lead to “excessive thirst, urination, hunger and weight loss”, and even some more subtle signs like yeast infections. Also included in this video is the difference between type 1 and type 2 diabetes. He recommends bringing your child to the physician right away if you recognize any of these symptoms.
